By the Willow - in progressBy the Willow
"And now no one sits, by the willow"
It was a particularly beautiful day, the first of Spring. It was as if Winter had suddenly disappeared overnight and taken with it almost every bit of trace, only just leaving a bit of chilly air. The frosty grass crunched beneath my feet, the early sun rose behind the trees, it's golden rays warming my cheeks. I headed down to the lake, it's my favorite place and there's always a new sight to sketch every day. Now That We're ApartEven now that we’re apart,
it all flashes before me.
That one song on the radio,
it brings back memories.
These moments that I’ll always remember,
these seconds where it all comes back.
And it feels so true,
I reach out and I want to touch you.
I see your smile,
that cheeky one before you laugh.
The way you hold me in your arms,
how you hold my hand.
We walked together,
for a while our paths met.
I know it wasn’t meant to be.
And even now that we’re apart,
I picture you with me at sunset.
I take your hand in mine,
for one last time.
In my heart you’ll forever stay,
my best friend, my one true love.
In another life, we’ll share this day.
Keep in Touch!
